Council Meeting Notes from January
Grand Knight, Paul Holm, had the following report:
- A thank you card was received from Father Pat Griffin, a former pastor of Risen Savior Parish, for the Risen Savior 40th Anniversary gift he received.
- The Council Free Throw Contest will be held on January 19 and is coordinated by Dave Benz.
District Deputy, Mel Meyer, gave the following report:
- The District Free Throw Contest will be held on January 30 in Rosemount with a 9:15 am check-in. The time and place for the District Free Throw Contest is yet to be determined.
- The State Free Throw Contest will be held on March 22 at Kennedy High School in Bloomington with an 8:30 am check-in.
- A first degree exemplification will be held at Faithful Shepherd School in Eagan on February 8.
- A first degree exemplification will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Rosemount on February 22.
- March is a membership drive month. Ask your fellow Catholics to become KC members. Watch for a signup table in the commons at risen Savior on the weekends of March 13/March 14, March 20/March 21 and March 27/ March 28.
Council Chairman, B.J. Bertram, had the following report:
- The date for Von Hansen brat and hot dog stand fund raiser is May 15 and 16 at Von Hansen Meats in Apple Valley.
- A handout for the Minnesota State KC Student Loan program was given.
GK continues his report:
- The KCs will be helping with the baby bottle campaign in January. Proceeds go to Respect for Life.
- The council indicated that the new rate for advertizing in the newsletter will be $50 annually. If you are interested in advertising in the newsletter and want more info, please send an e-mail to Chad Pittman at: cpittman@kcapplevalley.org
- Upcoming Pancake Breakfasts will be held at Risen Savior on February 21 and again on March 21. Signup sheets will be passed around at the meetings prior to each event. Each breakfast will be from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. If you can’t work at the event, support your council by coming out and enjoying a great breakfast. Bring a friend.
